| background information on this organisation |
Chizuk was founded in 1996 in response to community care legislations. It services primarily the Orthodox community, but no one is ever turned away without appropriate help. Services are delivered in accordance to Jewish law and it particularly sensitive to the cultural and religious needs of the Orthodox Jewish Community. The community is based in three main cities, London, Manchester and Gateshead. Chizuk is recognized by the union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations, Department of Health, Department of Children, School and Families, Local Primary Care Trusts and Mental Health Trusts and Local Authorities. Chizuk works collaboratively with other organizations in the community who have an interest in health and social care as well as playing its part in the wider community representing the views of the Chareidi (strictly Orthodox) community on mental health. |
