| background information on this organisation |
The Monday Club was started in the spring of 1972 by the Jewish Welfare Board, as a meeting place for Jewish people with learning disabilities. Over the years, the club has evolved and is now much more structured with weekly sessions led by professional instructors in drama, art, music therapy and stretch-and-exercise programmes as well as sing-a-longs. It is now open to people of all denominations with learning disabilities. The club meets every Monday night from 7.30 until 9.30pm. Costs are 30p per session which also includes the best tea in London for 30p. |
