main functions
Opportunity to express your thoughts through art and creativity. With trained art teachers and therapists, this type of support opens up new horizons. Using pen and paper we can write our own productions. We then have another outlet in the form of drama. This gives all a chance to put their hopes and fears into the character of their choice. We already have successfully presented a public production. With music we have an impressive range to suit all tastes that come to us for truly creative emotional support. Tablets are not an answer in themselves, but together with our range of support, form a holistic and healthy approach to combat mental illness and ensure mental health in our community.

background information on this organisation
Chizuk was founded in 1996 in response to community care legislations. It services primarily the Orthodox community, but no one is ever turned away without appropriate help. Services are delivered in accordance to Jewish law and it particularly sensitive to the cultural and religious needs of the Orthodox Jewish Community.  The community is based in three main cities, London, Manchester and Gateshead. Chizuk is recognized by the union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations, Department of Health, Department of Children, School and Families, Local Primary Care Trusts and Mental Health Trusts and Local Authorities. Chizuk works collaboratively with other organizations in the community who have an interest in health and social care as well as playing its part in the wider community representing the views of the Chareidi (strictly Orthodox) community on mental health.
